New Variable Speed Solution With R410A For Reversible Cooling And Heating Applications

MILAN (ITALY), March 15, 2016 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) announces the launch of new variable speed solutions for heating and reversible applications comprising a complete line-up of Copeland™ Scroll compressors, drives and controls at Mostra Convegno fair in Milan.

Environmental impact, reduction of carbon footprint, energy consumption and the implementation and further development of the Ecodesign Directive are driving the market demanding for energy efficient and reliable solutions in the heating and cooling segment. With the launch of a new range of R410A variable speed compressors with high efficient permanent magnet motor and coupled with optimized inverter drives Emerson offers a matured solution tailored to not only meeting the efficiency objectives of the Ecodesign Directive. Further to equipping the compressors with qualified inverter drives, Emerson integrates its EXV expansion valves and sensors into this solution for a smart and optimized refrigerant circuit management. This allows system manufacturers to save development time while ensuring safety and reliability. In addition the customers’ time-to-market schedule will be shortened while increasing their return on investment.

The new solution covers a heating capacity range from 3 to 20 kW with an extended operating envelope for models without vapor injection and a widened modulated speed variation from 15 to 120Hz. Its low superheat capability as well as being newly equipped with variable volume ratio and the high volumetric efficiency valve - boosting both cooling and heating efficiency- provide a high seasonal efficiency.

The production launch of the XHV variable speed compressors - optimized for average and warm climates - will be in May 2016. Field testing samples are already available.
