New Condensing Units with Stream Semi-Hermetic Compressors

Emerson Climate Technologies is pleased to announce the release of its new family of condensing units featuring Copeland™ Stream four and six cylinder semi-hermetic compressors. These new models are designed for commercial and industrial applications with high capacity demand.

AACHEN, GERMANY, January 30, 2014 – Built on the success of Copeland Stream compressors, Emerson Climate Technologies has released twelve models of indoor condensing units equipped with four and six cylinder semi-hermetic Stream compressors. With extended operation envelopes, the units are suitable for use in low, medium or high temperature applications. These new condensing units are equipped with CoreSense™ Diagnostics and are compatible with multiple refrigerants.

Energy efficiency and design flexibility
Stream based units are approved for operation with R404A, R134a, R407A/C/F and R22. Having the choice between several refrigerants for the same compressor without any performance compromises is an important and unique benefit made possible by the Emerson owned and patented Discus™ valve plate technology. Compared to other semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors, this technology allows for better performance. Additionally, the ability to choose the refrigerant increases flexibility in the system design. The new units already meet future efficiency requirements of the European Ecodesign Directive (2009/125/EC).

System reliability
All units that are equipped with Stream compressors feature CoreSense Diagnostics, an electronic module that provides advanced system protection and diagnostics. The benefits are improved system reliability, reduced service costs and increased equipment uptime. With CoreSense technology, service engineers can now diagnose the system status much faster and conduct preventive maintenance in order to keep the refrigeration systems in optimum condition over their entire lifetime. The diagnostics module also provides compressor asset and advanced runtime information.
