New Copeland Summit Series for Low Temperature Applications
New Copeland Summit Series for Low Temperature Applications

AACHEN, GERMANY, October 14, 2010— Emerson Climate Technologies is introducing Summit for low temperature applications. The series features five new scroll compressors that are efficient, compact, and quiet. They will be launched in spring 2011. This is following the commercial success of Summit for medium temperature applications launched two years ago.

In the commercial refrigeration sector, scroll technology has caught up with reciprocating technology in many applications and in many respects – in fact scroll technology offers winning advantages, broadly recognized by the market. As a manufacturer of both technologies, Emerson Climate Technologies offers the full range of products from which the optimum solution can be chosen. The innovation cycles for all product families follow the changing market requirements in order to continuously improve the efficiency levels of refrigeration equipment. This is now being taken into consideration for frozen food applications.

At Chillventa 2010, Emerson’s refrigeration team presents for the first time the new Summit Series for low temperature. The new ZF25K6E, ZF34K6E, ZF41K6E, ZF49K6E and ZF54K6E models cover an expanded cooling capacity range from 5 to 12 kW. Resulting from an entire redesign, Summit offers a level of efficiency 10% higher than the previous range. Summit is also compatible with Enhanced Vapor Injection – a technology developed by Emerson Climate Technologies - which allows system efficiency and cooling capacity to be increased by 25% and 40% respectively. This innovative feature also extends the range of applications.

The sound level of Summit was also drastically reduced in comparison with previous models. For sound critical applications Summit can be fitted with an additional sound shell that will attenuate sound by a further 10 dBA. This option enables particularly quiet operations when installed in noise sensitive environments. Compared to its predecessor, Summit is considerably more compact in terms of dimensions and weight. This represents another practical benefit in terms of ease of manufacturing and installation. Following their debut at Chillventa, these new models will be available from April 2011 onwards.
