Emerson to showcase future-proof solutions for heat pump applications at Mostra Convegno 2018
MILAN (ITALY), March 13, 2018 – Emerson (NYSE: EMR) will present an unequalled range of solutions for reversible cooling and heating applications at Mostra Convegno 2018 in Milan. The new offerings are ready to meet the toughest environmental challenges in the residential comfort market and, at the same time, to improve manufacturers’ system performances and business results.
The upcoming regulatory changes which are affecting the HVACR industry, like the transition towards low GWP refrigerants for reducing the carbon footprint, as well as the EcoDesign Directive requirements for energy efficiency are driving the market towards more sustainable options. Emerson keeps abreast of these challenges and provides solutions that not only increase system reliability and efficiency, but also help manufacturers reduce development time and cost, by combining know-how in compressor technology and refrigerant circuit management.

During the exhibition, Emerson will show the optimized line-up of variable speed Copeland Scroll™ compressors, qualified for low GWP alternative refrigerants - R452B and R454B, as a replacement of R410A. The new YHV*P series ensures the same high performances, thanks to the brushless permanent magnet motor, matched with an efficient inverter drive. Moreover, Emerson integrates its EXV expansion valves and sensors into this solution, for a smart refrigerant circuit management. This solution covers a heating capacity range from 3 to 20 kW with an extended operating envelope for models without vapor injection and a widened modulated speed variation from 15 to 120Hz. Its low superheat capability as well as being equipped with Variable Volume Ratio (VVR) technology and the high volumetric efficiency valve - boosting both cooling and heating efficiency - provide a high seasonal efficiency.

Besides the efficiency benefits, the new range of YHV*P variable speed compressors, developed for warm, average to cold climates, represents the ideal choice in the transition towards low GWP refrigerants. The new package allows system manufacturers to accelerate their time to market while increasing the return on investment.

Emerson is aware of its customers’ needs, and continuously invests in the development of future-proof solutions that meet the industry challenges of today and tomorrow. At Mostra, Emerson will present its expanded line-up of propane scroll fixed and variable speed compressors with inverter drives, designed for heat pump applications. Due to the refrigerant’s excellent thermodynamic properties and its very low compressor discharge temperature, YHV*U models offer a high level of performance, efficiency and a wide operating envelope compared to R407C and R410A.
These propane variable speed models offer a capacity range from 1 to 10 kW and coupled with Emerson qualified inverter drives allow for a modulation range with speed variation from 15 to 120 Hz. Dedicated Emerson R290 controls complete the offering to an efficient propane solution which supports manufacturers in being compliant with the F-Gas Regulation as well as the EcoDesign Directive.

Visit Emerson’s booth March 13 - 16 at Mostra Convegno in hall 24, booth R29/S30, to find out more about these and other residential comfort solutions.
