Emerson Climate Technologies Launches Unique ZX Cloud Monitoring Solution For Refrigeration Units

AACHEN (GERMANY), 5 February 2016 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), launches the ZX Cloud monitoring system for Copeland EazyCool™ ZX refrigeration units.

ZX Cloud is a unique monitoring solution of Emerson Climate Technologies which provides real time information about the operation status of refrigeration systems. It supports operators and service providers in securing refrigeration applications. Based on information, which is stored on a cloud server, the ZX Cloud software visualizes the operating status. It helps to understand and analyze system behavior, as cycling frequency, down times, trends and variation depending on impacts like daytime, seasons and system load. The ZX Cloud solution makes system information available at any time from anywhere thus reduces the number of control visits on site.

In food retail applications, the refrigeration system typically causes the highest energy consumption due to operation around the clock - 24 hours, seven days per week. When looking for optimization, one of the most effective means is to monitor the efficiency of the refrigeration system. Understanding the consumption pattern of the refrigeration system is an essential step to identify energy saving potential.

Real time monitoring helps to predict inconvenient breakdowns. It enables short reaction time and troubleshooting long before system temperatures rise above critical levels. Thus it helps to protect the refrigerated goods and to avoid spoilage. The operator does not have to spend time on monitoring the system status. The convenient and adjustable early warning system will automatically send a message via email to the operator if the system operation status is critical.

According to the European F-Gas regulation operators of refrigeration systems are obliged to document regular service and to track any change of charged quantity. My ZX Cloud online platform features a digital logbook which has been designed to help system operators ensuring compliance with the new F-Gas Regulation (EC) 517/2014.

The cloud components and monitoring equipment are already mounted and wired inside the ZX refrigeration unit. This allows for time-saving commissioning on site.
