Digital Scroll HLR Receiver Units Application Flexibility and Stepless Capacity Modulation
Digital Scroll™ HLR Receiver Units Application Flexibility and Stepless Capacity Modulation

AACHEN, GERMANY, October 13, 2010— Few months after launching the HLR series of Digital Scroll™ receiver units, Emerson Climate Technologies has added four new models to the line-up. This is in response to positive feedback and to meet the needs of the market. At the top of customers’ wish lists are flexible design and stepless capacity modulation.

No space, so where should the refrigeration system be installed? This is a question often faced by designers and refrigeration system installers, whose main need is for flexible solutions. To meet this demand, Emerson Climate Technologies has launched the new HLR receiver units with Copeland Scroll™ Digital compressors. Four new models will be added to this series at Chillventa 2010.

HLR13-ZBD58 and HLR13-ZBD76 are single units, while HLR31-ZBDT116 and HLR31-ZBDT152 are tandem units. All units are designed for refrigerant R404A. Another common feature is that cooling is generated using Digital Scroll™ with variable capacity modulation. This simple technology is based on a mechanical principle. It is both extremely robust and reliable, as the use of electronic components is limited to the control of the solenoid valve. A further advantage over other solutions is the larger capacity modulation range that stretches from 100% to minimum capacity of 10% (with single models) or 5% (with tandem models). These new HLR models are now available to groceries, restaurants, and caterers alike. They are both extremely energy-efficient and offer a standard refrigeration capacity ranging from under 1 kW up to 35 kW. When used together with external condensers, it is possible to design receiver units to run extremely quietly and efficiently. The full benefits of stepless capacity modulation are experienced, in particular, when serving multiple evaporators. These can be served with a single HLR receiver unit.

All models come fully equipped with a horizontal receiver, a control box, and an EC2 controller. This ensures easy access to the components as well as fast installation. This saves time, which in turn reduces installation and service costs.
