You can identify your CoreSense technology model with either the part number of the module or the type of compressor.
If you look at the module: the CoreSense product name should be visible on the product's casing. If you read the bill of material (found on model number, last three digits/letters).
Communication between the rack controller and each CoreSense module is through an RS485 network with MODBUS. The two-wire communication cable is daisy chained from one compressor to the next on each rack.
Compressor operations such as on/off control, modulation operation, transmission of compressor status and run proofing are all accomplished through the communication network. Password protected remote reset of certain compressor lockouts may also be done through the communication network if this functionality ahs been enabled through the controller.
The Emerson Retail Solutions' controller E2, version 2.6 or higher may be configured to send alarms for different levels of compressor faults, such as for warnings, trips, and lockouts.

The module can provide both compressor protection and lockout capability. Compressor protection means that the module will trip the compressor when designated severe alert conditions are detected.
If a lockout is enabled and a preset number of alarm events happen, the module will not allow the compressor to start until the situation is corrected and the module is manually reset.
The gateway board is Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc part number 943-3730-00, and includes complete documentation on installation and configuration. The gateway can be configured to pass only an “Alarm On” signal to all three generations of controllers (Condensed Mode), or can be configured to pass detailed alarm status and data to Einstein or E2 controllers (Expanded Mode).
When several modules are present and communications is needed, it is possible to daisy chain the communications ports of all modules and establish communication between a computer/controller and the modules as can be seen in the Figure 9.
CoreSense Diagnostics for Copeland Discus, also referred to as ISD, has advanced compressor protection features with the ability to sense and measure current to diagnose faulty system operating conditions.
It also however, has enhanced protection features: phase loss and power interruption protection, unloader control, digital compressor control and demand cooling feature. CoreSense Diagnostics for Copeland Discus Compressors also use a status display (LCD crystal display) and offer high and low pressure cutouts.
