Emerson Climate Technologies Prepares for Leadership Transition

​Ed Purvis Moves Up to Emerson COO; Bob Sharp Named New Business Leader of Emerson Climate

St. Louis, Jan. 14, 2015 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business segment of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), will have a new executive in charge after Emerson’s Feb. 3, 2015 board of directors meeting. The business leader for the past seven years, Ed Purvis, has been appointed chief operating officer for the parent company in St. Louis. Taking his place at Emerson Climate Technologies, which is headquartered in Sidney, Ohio, will be Robert T. (Bob) Sharp, a 19-year veteran with Emerson.
 
Purvis has served as executive vice president and business leader for Emerson Climate Ed Purvis
Technologies since 2008.  He began his Emerson career in 1983 at the Copeland business unit and has held positions of increasing responsibility across the organization. Throughout his career with Emerson Climate Technologies, Purvis has also held a number of industry roles and currently serves as chairman of AHRI.

We have been a long-time industry leader in compression and controls and now have expanded our role with the integration of electronics and services into our business.”
 
Bob Sharp is currently vice president of profit planning for Emerson and mostBob Sharp
recently led the development and implementation of the company’s Perfect Execution strategy.  Sharp joined Emerson in 1996 and has held positions of increasing responsibility, including president of the Rosemount Level and Marine business and president of Europe in the Process Management business. Sharp holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
