Industry Expert Addresses “Refrigerants – Get Ready for the Future”
ST. LOUIS, May 1, 2013 — Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), announced that Rajan Rajendran, Ph.D., vice president, engineering services and sustainability, addressed the Air-Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) during its Industry Partners Forum held April 30–May 2. Rajendran spoke on the topic of “Refrigerants – Get Ready for the Future, But What Is It? (R410A Replacement? – Flammable Refrigerants?)” on May 1 from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.
Attendees at Dr. Rajendran’s presentation learned about: the proliferation of refrigerants and the global issues and regulations driving this growth; the currently available refrigerant options as well as those still in development; an evaluation of AC and refrigeration systems as they relate to available refrigerants; and the Life Cycle Climate Performance approach to the overall environmental impact of refrigerants.
Dr. Rajendran is responsible for the technical support to original equipment manufacturers and end users for Emerson’s refrigeration business. He is extremely knowledgeable about alternate refrigerants as they pertain to air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration systems in the United States, Europe and Asia. He serves on the Low GWP Alternative Refrigerants Evaluation Program Task Force of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute and on the Working Groups for A2L Refrigerants at Underwriters Laboratories.
The ACCA Industry Partners Forum, started in 2002, is an invitation-only event which brings together top executives of the HVACR contracting industry, leaders of HVACR equipment distributors and CEOs of the major HVACR manufacturers.
