Emerson Climate Technologies Launches New Service Compressor Protection Kits to Help Meet Contractors’ Aftermarket Replacement Needs

Copeland™ Components Bundled with Residential Service Compressors

ST. LOUIS, April 4, 2012 – Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) launched a focused product line of residential Copeland Scroll™ and reciprocating compressors bundled with high quality components to meet the growing need for aftermarket replacements. Designed to provide contractors with everything needed to reliably replace a compressor, the service protection kits can extend the life of an air conditioning or heat pump system and reduce future costly repairs.

“Emerson is constantly looking for ways to offer contractors more value and provide the best possible experience with Copeland brand products,” said Karl Zellmer, vice president Sales, Air Conditioning Business of Emerson Climate Technologies. “Our service compressor protection kits make compressor change-outs easier by providing exactly what is needed to do the job right the first time. Hopefully this means less time searching for parts and ultimately fewer call-backs.”

The 2010 phase-out of HCFCs was a major milestone for contractors, OEMs, and homeowners alike. With Copeland ZR & CR service compressors, Emerson provides a focused product line for aftermarket needs. Further, the homeowner who makes the significant decision to replace his compressor should feel secure that his system components are equally reliable.

Each service protection kit comes stocked with high quality Copeland components such as capacitors, filter drier, contactor, molded plug and mounting parts. (In certain models, kits include a start capacitor and relay, copper tubing, and a Comfort Alert™ diagnostics module.) Kits are packaged inside the compressor single pack box and are currently available for single phase residential applications:
Copeland Scroll Compressors: ZR16 – ZR54K5, ZR61K3
Copeland Reciprocating Compressors: CR24 – CR42K6, CR47KQ, CRN5
