Latest Release of Facility Management Controller Offers Open BACnet Communication and Other Enhancements
ST. LOUIS, January 31, 2012 – Today Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), is releasing a new version of its E2 supervisory controller for retail facilities. The new version of the E2 offers open BACnet communication protocol, enabling retailers to interface with more devices. In addition, the new version of the E2 offers native integration with Emerson’s multi-zone infrared refrigerant leak detection device.
The E2 supervisory controller now comes equipped with 128 MB of RAM and a 500 MHz processor, providing retailers with faster application access and greater data logging capacity. A widened screen displays a system status bar containing a convenient breakdown of system advisories, network connectivity status and system configuration. The addition of a USB port enables system backup to preserve setpoints and other configurations.
Native connection to Emerson’s Refrigeration Leak Detection System (RLDS) eliminates the need to purchase a gateway for enabling E2 integration, thereby reducing equipment costs. When connected to the E2, the RLDS enables monitoring capabilities that safeguard refrigeration systems by sending leak notifications immediately upon detection. With the new E2 release, the RLDS can conveniently be programmed from any E2 supervisory platform, enabling remote setup.
The E2 supervisory controller is part of Emerson’s Intelligent Store® architecture, an integration of hardware, services and best practices that measure, manage, optimize and sustain operational cost savings across an enterprise.
