New Apps Expand Emerson Existing Line of Mobile Tools for Contractors
ST. LOUIS, September 20, 2011 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) is pleased to announce the launch of two new mobile apps for HVACR contractors. The Emerson X-Check™ Competitor Cross Reference app for valves, controls and system protectors and Emerson PT Pro™ Pressure Temperature Tool app to help contractors while in the field.
Emerson X-Check provides on-the-go access to the Emerson valves, controls and system protectors cross-reference database. The X-Check app allows users to pull up information based on manufacturer, product type and model number to locate the corresponding Emerson replacement. The X-Check database is offline so the user can still check for replacement even when Internet access is not available. The X-Check replacement page has a ‘where to buy’ link that allows the user to select a list of nearby wholesalers.
“The ability to quickly and easily find a supplier with the correct part for the job is vital to ensuring a contractor can efficiently complete a service call,” said Greg Billups, Emerson Climate Technologies Contractor National Sales Manager. “X-Check also provides a manufacturer default setting for frequent replacements.”
Emerson X-Check was recently recognized with the HVACR Week Product Showcase award.
The PT Pro app makes saturated pressure and temperature conversions easier for contractors while onsite. The app asks the user to select a refrigerant and to select whether at or above sea level. By entering the pressure, (Psig or Bar), the user receives the correct saturated temperature. If the user enters the saturated temperature (Celsius or Fahrenheit), it returns the correct saturated pressure value.
“Currently, many contractors carry a PT card with them, but the PT Pro app eliminates the need to do that and offers more universal readings,” added Billups.
Both apps are free to download and available for iPhone/iPad, Android and Blackberry and have a contact page that provides the company address, a phone number for application engineers and an email address should contractors have questions. Contractors can download the apps online at www.EmersonClimate.com/mobileapps.
