ST. LOUIS, August 13, 2012 – Experts from Emerson Climate Technologies, a business segment of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) presented papers on air conditioning and refrigeration technologies at the 2012 Purdue Conferences at the university’s School of Mechanical Engineering. The university hosted nearly 600 participants from over 30 countries at the event, which included three parallel conferences: the International Compressor Conference, the International Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Conference and the International High Performance Buildings Conference, all held July 16-19.

The event, organized by faculty at Purdue’s Ray W. Herrick Laboratories, featured ten Emerson experts from China and the U.S. presenting five papers covering refrigeration and air conditioning refrigerants, system performance measurement and compressor efficiency.

“The biennial Purdue Conferences are important forums for presenting compressor, refrigeration and air conditioning research results and technology,” said Dr. Rajan Rajendran, vice president of Engineering Services and Sustainability at Emerson Climate Technologies. “Emerson is proud to be a long-time supporter of this event, and I enjoyed discussing the important issues of compressor technology, new refrigerants and energy-efficient building technologies with global engineers and researchers.”
