Emerson Climate Technologies’ Andre Patenaude to Present at Canadian Mechanical and Plumbing Exposition

Will Discuss Enhanced Refrigeration Solutions on March 19 at 10:30 a.m.

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 17, 2014 — Emerson Climate Technologies, a business segment of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced Andre Patenaude, director of marketing, Canada, will speak at the 2014 Canadian Mechanical and Plumbing Exposition to be held in Toronto on March 19–21. Patenaude will present “Enhanced Refrigeration Solutions” at 10:30 a.m. ET on March 19.

Patenaude will discuss several enhanced solutions that can be applied in both retrofit and new refrigeration and air conditioning applications. Lowering energy consumption, through precise system control and modulation, will also reduce the carbon footprint. These enhanced solutions will provide faster and more accurate system diagnostics. He will also present several case study examples in which an enhanced solution has benefited both the contractor and the end user.

Emerson works closely with hundreds of manufacturers of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Driven by energy regulations and North American guidelines, this equipment continually evolves to become more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Within the commercial sector, foodservice has the highest energy use per square foot, due largely to the need for commercial refrigerators and freezers. All of this equipment — ice machines, refrigerators, walk-in coolers and rooftop air conditioners — benefits from recent compressor innovations, new refrigerants and improvements in system efficiency.

Patenaude leads Emerson’s Canadian market strategy, planning and implementation of programs for its refrigeration and air conditioning business. His focus is to research market dynamics, define opportunities, identify synergies and work with the sales business development teams to provide individual customer strategies. Patenaude is a Certified Mechanical Engineering Technologist and has served as director of the Manufacturer’s Division of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute. He is an active member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists and ASHRAE.
