In selection and sizing, the typical method would be to match the horsepower rating, rpm, voltage and amp draw. If in the case you have matched the hp rating, rpm and voltage to an equivalent RESCUE EcoTech motor rating but the amp draw of the PSC motor seems too high (more than 20%) from the RESCUE EcoTech rating, it is likely that the OEM motor is stronger than what is indicated on the nameplate. Double check the original capacitor rating, if it is 50% higher than what is usually used for that hp rating you may need to step up to the next horsepower. Use the table below as a guide:
