Is the RESCUE EcoTech motor suitable for use in furnace systems?
Since the RESCUE EcoTech motor utilizes all existing controls in a furnace or air handler, it can be used in a wide variety of applications, including gas furnaces.
Can the RESCUE EcoTech® motor be use with a multi-stage furnace system?
Since the RESCUE EcoTech motor utilizes the existing furnace control board to determine the blower speed, it should be able to connect to any furnace system the uses a PSC blower motor, including multi-stage systems.
Do you have product like the RESCUE EcoTech motor for condenser fan applications?
Currently, a version of our RESCUE EcoTech motor for outdoor application is not available. However, Emerson is launching a new line of PEP™ high efficiency PSC condenser fan motors to address the need of improved efficiency on condenser fan applications. Keep an eye on the Emerson Climate Technologies website for more information.
Can I use the RESCUE EcoTech® motor to replace my variable speed or GE® ECM motor?
The RESCUE EcoTech motor is a retrofit solution for PSC motors only and can not replace an OEM variable speed motor. Most OEM variable speed motors are specifically programmed to a particular application and require either a digital or 24 volt input.
Can I use the RESCUE EcoTech® motor if the HVAC system is used in conjunction with a zoning control system?
Yes, if the system utilized a PSC blower motor, the RESCUE EcoTech motor should work without issue when used in conjunction with a zoning control system. In fact, you may find the RESCUE EcoTech motor improves airflow performance as zones open and close.
Can I use the RESCUE EcoTech® motor on a belt drive system?
The RESCUE EcoTech motor is designed as a drop-in replacement for direct drive blower systems only. Alternatively, some belt drive systems can be converter to a direct drive type blower. Consult a blower unit manufacturer or supplier to find out if a direct drive blower kit is available for your application.
Can I use the RESCUE EcoTech® motor with a power inverter?
As a general rule concerning power inverters, if the inverter is safe for use with a laptop then it can also be used with the RESCUE EcoTech motor.
