Emerson Climate Technologies Refrigeration Division Recognized for Quality Products, Customer Focus, Business Performance

Ohio-Based Business Wins Emerson’s 2010 Chairman’s Operational Excellence Award

ST. LOUIS, May 31, 2011 – For its quality products, strong customer relationships, and market growth in the face of a tough economy, the Refrigeration Business of Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., a business group of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), has been awarded Emerson’s 2010 Chairman’s Operational Excellence Award. Emerson Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, David Farr, visited the business’ main facility in Sidney, Ohio on May 27 to recognize the accomplishments of employees and present the award.

The Emerson Climate Technologies Refrigeration Business serves the supermarket, convenience store and restaurant industries as a leader in compressor technology for commercial refrigeration. This business has seen growth in the transport market, increasing transport sales more than 20 percent from FY2003 to FY2008, and becoming the favored compressor company for key market leaders. With the acquisition of Vilter Manufacturing in 2009, Emerson entered the $2 billion adjacent market of industrial refrigeration.

The Emerson Chairman’s Operational Excellence Award is the company’s highest business honor, based on industry leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, measurement, analysis, knowledge management, as well as operations and business results.
