VariTough™ Inverter Duty Motors

Emerson VariTough™ Inverter Duty motors are designed to work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). These motors support the energy saving trend where large condensing units with multiple fan motors are being outfitted with one VFD to lower the speed of the motors when demand is reduced in the refrigeration system.

VariTough motors feature Emerson’s Inverter Grade® insulation system for NEMA MG-1 Part 31 rated protection, and exclusive mounting provisions (patent pending) for a shaft grounding rings when the application is most demanding.
