ACHRNEWS has launched a Best Business Tips Contest, open to all U.S. and Canadian HVAC contractors, regardless of size of market served. They’re hoping contractors will share their very best business tips with other contractors. Entries will be accepted until Sept. 30. The winner will be announced in the Nov. 12 issue. The first place prize winner will receive $500; second place $300; third place $100.
The Boomers are making a break for it. Soon, a huge percentage of American’s skilled workforce will be headed for retirement. Companies are frantically figuring out how to deal with the loss of institutional knowledge that comes with the huge number of employees who are reaching the typical age of retirement. In many companies 50% of managers and other key employees will be eligible to retire by 2010, and 70% by 2015.
