Emerson Climate Technologies, the world’s leading provider of HVACR solutions, presented a series of industry leading air-conditioning and refrigeration technologies at the Heating, Air-conditioning, Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition – South Korea 2013 (HARFKO 2013) from March 11-14, 2013.
During the four day exhibition held at KINTEX, Koyang-si Emerson Climate Technologies presented a number of seminars highlighting current industry trends while demonstrating how implementation of new technology can improve efficiency, reduce overall costs and deliver a better environmental performance.
The main elements of the seminar program included presentations on AC chiller applications with Copeland Scroll™ large commercial compressors and an introduction of Stream Semi-Hermetic compressors with CoreSense™ Diagnostics.
Tarundeep Singh, Senior Manager, Air Conditioning Marketing - Rest Of Asia, commented during the seminar, “As the regulatory framework for energy standards in Asia becomes more stringent, it is essential for the AC Chiller manufacturing sector to transition to higher efficiency equipments focusing on full load as well as part load efficiency. Emerson Climate Technologies now produce large commercial scroll compressors in Asia as part of our ‘In Asia, for Asia’ strategy to better serve regional customers with shorter lead times and reduced freight costs.”
Copeland Scroll™ qualified tandem and trio configurations applied in multiple circuits allows engineers to design commercial chillers with superior part load efficiency. Available with R22, R410A, and R407C refrigerant options, Emerson’s line of Copeland Scroll™ compressors enables commercial chillers to modulate capacity to closely match building’s load while minimizing life cycle cost.
Copeland Scroll™ large compressors enable the chiller manufacturers in South Korea to meet the demands of applications including hotels, hospitals, convention centers, or office and residential towers. With superior hermetic design, Copeland Scroll™ large commercial compressors offer a robust and reliable technology with negligible maintenance cost over the life of 15 years.
Emerson Climate Technologies demonstrates the commitment to add value to chiller manufacturers by offering the broadest range of large commercial scroll compressors. The 60HP Copeland Scroll™ compressor with R410A refrigerant will be later this year.
On the refrigeration side, Emerson presented the latest state-of-the art semi-hermetic PistonTechnology, Stream with CoreSense™ Diagnostics. First launched in Europe early last year, was launched in South Korea in March 2012 and proved to be very popular with customers in South Korea.
Emerson CoreSense™ Diagnostics comes with a great set of features that offer benefits to refrigeration system manufacturers, service engineers and operators. It facilitates predictive maintenance and advanced diagnostics while also reducing applied system costs. Modbus communication systems enable accurate diagnostic readings both remotely and on-site. Additionally, the addition of CoreSense™ technology benefits commercial customers by helping manage on-site compressor data, meaning system related problems can be diagnosed faster or even before they occur, and allows users to increase system uptime and reduce food loss.
CoreSense™ Diagnostics helps engineers maintain the system by offering basic oil and motor protection through high discharge temperature protection and single phasing, while preventative maintenance is made possible through power consumption measurement.
Digital technology is now used in many refrigeration applications and Stream Digital models are easy to include in system designs, install, commission, and service while providing the simplest and most reliable means of continuous capacity modulation. These compressors use the Discus® valve plate technology allows for one model for to be used for both medium pressure HFC (R404A, R407) and low pressure HFC (R134a). All while improving the operating efficiency at high, medium and low temperatures by 21%, 15% and 6% respectively.
“We believe that Stream semi-hermetic compressors will provide the best in class performance for today’s HFC-based and uprising natural and low GWP refrigerants, while reducing cost of operation and environmental impact compared to competing products,” said Heiner Lanz, Director Sales Refrigeration, Europe
With over 25 years of proven reliability and 100 million scroll installations in the global market along with industry leading semi-hermetic technology, Emerson Climate Technologies set the industry standard in HVACR solutions. The company places strong importance on the development of the South Korea market and will continue to develop new solutions across all market segments to enhance the efficiency of systems and the benefits for users. Emerson is committed to developing solutions that increase energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and are compatible with environmental-friendly refrigerants. In the future, Emerson Climate Technologies will continue to customize more HVACR solutions for South Korea to meet the diversified needs of South Korean customers.
