The La Residency in Thane, India, a LEED Platinum certified project, cuts down 65-70% in energy consumption with the use of renewable resources, effective water management and local sourcing of materials.

Venkataramanan Associates for KBL-Yamuna - India

KBL-Yamuna exceeds the ASHRAE baseline for HVAC systems and is designed to yield up to 50% energy savings and up to 30% water conservation.

The project location is built with light footprints and uses bio-mass gasified electricity and regional materials. It addresses issues in ambient temperature through innovative HVAC system design, insulation and flooring.

Pankaj Dharkar for URL Biotech Research Center - India

Dr. R. Sarvanan for Cold Storage Systems for Small Capacity Application - India

The project showed the feasible use of generator absorption heat exchange (GAX) based ammonia absorption plant for cold storage applications in rural areas, yielding 35% higher COP and energy savings.

 

 

Honorary Award: ACR Project Consultants for Colour Film Vaults for National Film Archives, Prasar Bharti - All India Radio

The project maintained precise temperature and humidity critical in preserving color films through refrigeration system design optimization, selection of appropriate refrigerant and de-humidification system design.

Ascendas Land (S) Pte Ltd for The Galen - Singapore

The Galen is Singapore's first BCA Green Mark - Platinum Rating for Existing Buildings. The project has a proven track record of utilities cost savings and uses a system for rainwater harvesting.

 

 

Honorary Award: Pankaj Dharkar for Cadila Health Care Ltd - India

The project made an appropriate design and selection of HVAC systems, resulting in savings in maximum electricity demand requirement worth INR 25 million and yielded minimal disturbance to business operations.

The project makes use of a solar chimney that can passively give natural ventilation without the use of electricity. The use of phase change material to store energy also allows its use at night time.
