Electronic Expansion Valves & Controls

Emerson Climate Technologies' EX4 to EX8 electrical control valves are fully hermetic stepper motor driven valves optimized for control of liquid or gaseous mass flow. The patented universal drivers enable controlled operation of motor driven valves such as electronic expansion valves and evaporator pressure regulators while the stand-alone superheat controllers maintain stable superheat control for air conditioning, refrigeration, and industrial applications.

Emerson also offers a pulse width modulation electronic expansion valve, EX2. It is applicable to all common HCFC and HFC refrigerants and for subcritical CO2 applications and is used mainly for refrigeration applications such as display cases. The EX2 valve is a slide type solenoid valve with an orifice for expansion. It is either completely open or completely closed. One common valve body can be combined with 6 interchangeable orifices to cover 7 capacity ranges.

Emerson valve controllers are optimized for the requirements of refrigeration and air conditioning. They perform all control tasks which have been performed by conventional valves such as superheat control or capacity control.
