Suzhou, China (March 3rd, 2011) – Emerson Climate Technologies (Suzhou) Co., Ltd, a division of Emerson Climate Technologies under Emerson (NYSE:EMR) ("Emerson"), today announced the start of mass production of the digital scroll compressor in its Suzhou plant. Emerson's decision to produce the compressors for the first time in China demonstrates the company’s confidence and commitment to the Chinese market and reflects the success this product has for global and local OEMs in this region.
Emerson first introduced the digital scroll compressor technology in China in 2002 following the tradition to bring cutting-edge ideas and products for the HVAC industry in this market. Compared to alternative technologies, digital scroll compressors have the advantages of reliability, high energy-efficiency, precise temperature control and minimal electromagnetic interference.

Local mass production of digital scroll compressors will significantly reduce product delivery time to merely eight days on the average, an industry-leading capability. Compared with overseas production, local production would enable Emerson to rapidly respond to the demands of the Chinese air-conditioning market.
