EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES PLANT IN THAILAND TO PRODUCE ALUMINIZED COPELAND SCROLL DIGITAL™ COMPRESSORS FOR MARINE CONTAINER APPLICATIONS

ST. LOUIS, December 08, 2008 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), announced today that it will be utilizing its manufacturing plant in Thailand to handle production of aluminized Copeland Scroll Digital™ compressors for transport applications.

Through the support of large transport Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the Emerson Climate Technologies plant in Sidney, Ohio has seen a steady increase of aluminized Copeland Scroll Digital compressor production demand over the past several years. Utilizing the plant in Thailand will enable Emerson Climate Technologies to better serve the transport market, offering shorter lead times for transport end-users, cargo companies and dealers and providing the amount of compressor supply needed to meet OEM demand.
