ST.

–
Emerson
Climate
Technologies,
a
business
of
Emerson
(NYSE:
EMR),
announced
today
the
release
of
its
EX
series
electronic
expansion
valves
and
controls
in
the
United
States.
The
EX
series
stepper
motor
driven
valves
are
designed
for
commercial
air
conditioning
and
refrigeration
applications
and
feature
the
fastest
response
time
in
the
industry.
Complementing
the
EX
series
are
the
EC
series
network-enabled
electronic
superheat
controllers
and
drivers.
This
complete
electronic
package
offers
improved
energy
efficiency
and
tighter
temperature
regulation
combined
with
innovative
features
such
as
remote
monitoring
and
diagnostics.
“Our
constant
commitment
to
provide
the
best
products
in
the
industry
is
reflected
in
the
EX
series
valves
and
our
overall
electronic
controls
solution,”
said
Al
Maier,
vice
president,
application
engineering,
Emerson
Climate
Technologies
Flow
Controls
Division.
“These
valves
have
been
designed
to
improve
efficiency
while
meeting
and
exceeding
today’s
most
demanding
application
requirements
for
long-lasting
and
precise
refrigerant
flow
control.”
The
EX
series
valves
can
operate
at
partial
load
with
the
same
precision
as
under
full
load,
fully
exploiting
the
potential
for
energy
savings
due
to
lower
condensing
pressure
levels.
The
valves
also
offer
a
positive
shut
off
function
that
utilizes
a
battery
back-up
built
into
the
controller
to
close
the
valve
after
power
loss,
eliminating
the
need
for
an
additional
solenoid
valve.
Additional
key
features
of
the
EX
series
valves
include:
-
All stainless steel construction for long life with no corrosion.
-
Ceramic slide for low friction, minimum operating force and tight shut off.
-
Unique gate valve design providing a linear refrigerant flow characteristic. Maximum Operating Pressure (MOP) function to protect compressors from overload.
