EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES MARKS 20TH
ANNIVERSARY OF COPELAND SCROLL®
COMPRESSORS
ST. LOUIS,
November 6, 2007 –
Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR),
announces the 20th anniversary of the company’s
industry-leading Copeland Scroll® compressors on
Wednesday, November 14, 2007. Recognized for its energy
efficiency and reliability, Copeland Scroll has helped shape the
HVACR industry for two decades. To date, nearly 60 million
Copeland Scroll compressors have been installed worldwide since
1987.
“Copeland Scroll is a shining example of Emerson’s commitment to
technological innovation,” said Tom Bettcher, CEO, Emerson
Climate Technologies. “We are proud of how far we’ve come in 20
years, and more excited than ever about the future of this
game-changing technology. We have been fortunate to work with
some of the best contractors and manufacturers in the industry,
and I thank them for their support through the years.”
HVACR equipment has historically been scrutinized by government
regulators looking to reduce our nation’s energy usage. When
Copeland Scroll was introduced, it gained preference from HVACR
contractors and manufacturers in part because of its ability to
achieve previously unheard of levels of efficiency in an era of
increasing energy standards. Later, its versatility also allowed
it to expand into new applications such as commercial air
conditioning, refrigeration and several unique applications in
various markets, such as medical equipment and oil and gas.
"Copeland Scroll has had a tremendous impact on contractors and
the HVACR industry,” said Paul Stalknecht, president and CEO of
the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA). “We
congratulate them on 20 successful years and their support of
ACCA and the contracting community.”
Throughout the last 20 years, Copeland Scroll has been integral
in preparing the HVACR industry for key regulatory transitions,
such as the recent move to minimum 13 SEER equipment. Today,
Copeland Scroll offers the industry’s broadest line of R-410A
equipment, well in advance of the 2010 HCFC new equipment
phase-out. Copeland Scroll innovation has also introduced many
important technology innovations including the light-commercial
modulating Copeland Scroll Digital™ and the
residential, two-stage modulating Copeland Scroll UltraTech™.
