EMERSON CLIMATE
TECHNOLOGIES NAMES SPERINO NEW VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL COUNSEL and
SECRETARY
ST. LOUIS, May 16,
2007 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE:
EMR), today announced the promotion of John Sperino to the position of
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. In this position, Sperino
will provide counsel and oversee all legal affairs for Emerson Climate
Technologies.

Sperino previously served
as senior counsel focusing on international trade and antitrust for
Emerson Corporate in St. Louis. Before that, he was a senior attorney
for Emerson Process Management. Prior to becoming an Emerson employee,
he worked for Emerson law firm Blackwell Sanders, LLP, where Emerson was
a primary client. Sperino graduated from St. Louis University with a
degree in Finance, received his law degree from the University of
Illinois and an MBA from Washington University.
