Emerson Climate Technologies Enters Into Business Agreement with International Compressor Manufacturer, Embraco

ST. LOUIS, December 8, 2006 – Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), and Embraco, a business of Whirlpool (NYSE:WHR), today announced the appointment of Emerson Climate Technologies as Embraco’s North American distributor.

This agreement leverages the strengths of each company. Embraco’s quality and best-in-class technology complement Emerson Climate Technologies’ highly regarded customer support system, considerable application knowledge and significant Wholesaler distribution network, currently consisting of over 950 Emerson Wholesalers.
