EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES THE ULTRATECH™ COMMUNICATING SYSTEM
Most contractors agree UltraTech will help them upsell to high-end HVAC systems they can install and service with confidence
ST. LOUIS, January 29, 2007 - Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today introduced the new UltraTech™ communicating system, an integrated network of world-class components that work better together to enable HVAC systems to deliver superior performance. UltraTech, a significant advancement for the HVAC industry, gives contractors the power to deliver better home comfort and energy efficiency via systems that can be installed and serviced with confidence.
UltraTech delivers better comfort and efficiency via a two-stage Copeland Scroll UltraTech™ compressor and variable speed blower motor. When these technologies are integrated with UltraTech's outdoor control board, indoor control board, and easy-to-use programmable thermostat, the HVAC system can share information system-wide for better performance. By sharing information system wide, UltraTech autoconfigures and checks system settings, with no additional wires needed.
"Our market research shows homeowners want better comfort and efficiency, with systems that are highly reliable," said John Schneider, director of marketing, Emerson Climate Technologies Residential Systems. "However, these systems are often more complex to install, Most contractors agree that UltraTech enables them to upsell better performance to the homeowner with smart HVAC systems they can install and service with confidence".
Emerson's market research with contractors indicates a high interest in this solution for selling, installing, and servicing high-end systems. Eight out of 10 contractors agree UltraTech will help them sell up, improve the quality of installation, enable more service technicians to be capable of installing high-end equipment, and reduce callbacks.
UltraTech helps reduce callbacks by improving service and reliability with onboard Comfort AlertTM diagnostics and active protection from severe fault conditions. Plus, with the capability to share information system wide, UltraTech displays a "call for service" indicator on the thermostat when system faults are detected. The onboard UltraTech diagnostics are proven to increase diagnostic accuracy by up to 60 percent. This improvement allows problems to be fixed quickly, accurately and at less added expense to the contractor. As a result, callbacks, service call times and failure rates are all decreased significantly, offering additional reliability and peace of mind for both the contractor and the homeowner.
