EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES™ INTRODUCES SECOND MODULE OF ITS SERIES OF MOTOR TRAINING CDs
ST. LOUIS, March 6, 2006 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced the release of module two of its Motor Training Series. The second of four CDs in the series, module two focuses on the mechanical construction of an electric motor, as well as explaining mechanical terminology and features. Specific topics covered in the module include motor components, types of motors, motor exterior and motor enclosures.
“Module two in the Motor Training Series is essential in providing wholesalers and contractors detailed information pertaining to electric motors and their construction,” said Sid Ambort, vice president of sales and marketing for Emerson’s HVACR Motors division. “Emerson Climate Technologies understands the wholesalers’ and contractors’ need for detailed product information, and the Motor Training Series gives them the tools they need to provide customers with the best service experience possible.”
The self-paced interactive tool was intended to better assist wholesalers and contractors in their basic understanding of the data on a motor nameplate, enabling them to properly select motor replacements. The different modules in the training series are centered on providing a comprehensive overview of motors and their basic applications. A series of three quizzes and a final exam are incorporated into the program, to ensure proper knowledge and understanding of the material. A certificate of completion and recognition is awarded from Emerson Climate Technologies after users have successfully passed the tests.
Each module in the series includes glossaries and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) reference charts, for a detailed and thorough comprehension. The different modules build upon the lessons learned in previous CDs, in order to allow users’ knowledge to develop and transition from beginner to expert. Modules three and four, scheduled to be released later in the year, will emphasize electrical components and motor applications.
The Motor Training Series is available on CDs and can also be accessed online, at EmersonClimateContractor.com.
