EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES™ ANNOUNCES NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING AND eBUSINESS
ST. LOUIS, February 20, 2006 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced the promotion of Geoff Godwin to the position of vice president of marketing and eBusiness. Godwin has more than 15 years of experience in the HVACR industry, most recently serving as director of sales, Copeland Air Conditioning, for Emerson Climate Technologies.
In his new position as vice president, Godwin will be responsible for Emerson Climate Technologies marketing and eBusiness efforts globally. He will also oversee the marketing service functions and the Emerson Climate Technologies global service center, which provides sales, technical support and marketing services for Emerson Climate Technologies companies.
“Geoff brings an immense amount of talent and proven experience to this position,” said Dick Schul, vice president of Emerson Climate Technologies. “His ingrained knowledge of our customers, business initiatives and the HVACR industry will be an asset to Emerson Climate Technologies and will enhance and drive our initiatives in other areas of the business.”
Godwin began his career at Copeland Corporation in 1991 as a product planner, where he completed work on the first refrigeration scroll platform. He has also been responsible for managing sales to refrigeration and air conditioning original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and wholesalers. In his most recent position as director of sales for Copeland Air Conditioning, Godwin managed combined Copeland, Emerson Climate Technologies’ Flow Controls and HVACR Motors sales-team efforts. He was instrumental in launching the first Copeland Contractor Council and directed the Emerson Climate Technologies’ air conditioning contractor branding program. He is also accredited with the implementation of the first global service center sales team for Emerson Climate Technologies’ OEM accounts.
Prior to joining Copeland in 1991, Godwin served as an officer of the United States Air Force for five years. He earned a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Dayton.
