EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES™ ANNOUNCES UPGRADES TO WHITE-RODGERS 80 SERIES SINGLE STAGE THERMOSTATS
Upgrades include larger display and home comfort features
ST. LOUIS, January 3, 2006 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced several upgrades to the White-Rodgers’ 80 Series single stage thermostats. The thermostats now offer enhanced comfort features like indefinite and timed set-point hold, as well as a display that is 45 percent larger than previous 80 Series single-stage thermostats.
“The 80 Series thermostat is one of White-Rodgers’ most popular products,” said Ron Miles, vice president of sales and marketing distribution. “The upgrades made to the 80 Series further strengthen the superior performance and reliability that contractors and homeowners have come to expect from White-Rodgers.”
The 80 Series thermostats offer three core benefits to users:
- More accuracy and control. The 80 Series can maintain a set temperature to within one degree. A larger permanent memory improves performance, as well as saves all programs during a power loss.
- More comfort and convenience. The programmable models deliver perfect comfort, as they automatically change to the selected temperature. The new, 45-percent-larger lighted display makes for clearer low-light viewing. The ergonomic design gives homeowners easy access to keypad controls for ease in set-up and programming
- More value and energy savings with programmable models. Homeowners can save as much as 33 percent by programming heating and cooling times to cut energy use, based on the home’s location, climate and program selections and meets Energy Star specifications.
There are three different programming levels available in the 80 Series line. These options offer homeowners a choice of seven-day programming, 5+1+1 day programming or non-programmable. All programmable models have a temporary override feature that allows the user to adjust the temperature during the current program period.
The 80 Series thermostats are available to contractors through distributors nationwide. For more information, please visit White-Rodgers.com.
