ELEVATES HVACR AFTERMARKET

ST. LOUIS, October 24, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced the launch of the Emerson Authorized Full-Line Wholesaler program. Emerson Authorized Full-Line Wholesalers will carry the complete range of Emerson Climate Technologies air conditioning and refrigeration products and support Emerson’s strategy of integrated component technology, embedded electronics and end to end customer solutions.

Strategic wholesalers participating in the Emerson Authorized Full-Line program become a one-stop source for products, service and knowledge. These wholesaler locations carry all of Emerson Climate Technologies’ refrigeration and HVAC products, including the trusted brands Copeland^®, Browning^®, White-Rodgers^®, and Emerson product lines like Flow Controls, HVACR Motors and Ventilation Products. Instead of going to multiple stores to find multiple Emerson products, contractors will now be able to purchase from a single wholesaler all of the products they need to get their jobs done.

Contractors will have the confidence of knowing that they are partnering with wholesalers that provide the highest level of support in terms of products, training, technical information and more.”

According to Gibson, the Emerson Authorized Full-Line Wholesaler strategy represents a completely new way of defining the HVACR aftermarket. “We’re offering opportunities in the marketplace that no one else is able to provide,” he continued. “Emerson Climate Technologies is uniquely positioned to move the industry to the next level as products become more integrated and manufacturers become more solutions oriented.”

The Full-Line model offers contractors three main benefits, including:

• Availability: Emerson Authorized Full-Line Wholesalers offer contractors a full line of trusted brands like Copeland, Browning and White-Rodgers. Emerson Climate Technologies offers innovative, reliable technology that is engineered to work better together; Full-Line wholesalers will provide contractors with full access to all of these products.

• Knowledge: Emerson Authorized Full-Line Wholesalers are a select group of Emerson partners that are well-positioned to inform contractors about applications, regulations and industry trends. By partnering with Emerson, these wholesalers are able to provide a more comprehensive package of technical data, new product information, and other important resources available to the contractor. Each location will also offer a higher level of training and support to contractors.

• Service: Emerson Authorized Full-Line Wholesalers are supported by the full resources of Emerson to give contactors the tools and knowledge they need to meet their customers’ needs. Specialized training seminars, customer events and expedited delivery of critical products, coupled with a knowledgeable counter staff, will help contractors increase their value and improve profitability.

“Emerson Climate Technologies products are designed to work together, and as we built our brand, we realized that our distribution network needed to support all of our product lines,” Gibson continued. “We could not provide our products in the aftermarket and ask our contractors to go to three or four wholesalers to get them. We put the Emerson Authorized Full-Line distribution in place to help present one face to the customer in the aftermarket.”

The Emerson Authorized Full-Line distribution strategy is an evolution of the Copeland PrimeSource program. Former PrimeSource locations that have elected to enroll in the Full-Line program will transition to Emerson Authorized Full-Line over the coming months. Those locations that are not transitioning to Emerson Authorized Full-Line will have a new aftermarket identification of “Authorized Copeland Wholesaler.”
