LOUIS, October 31, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today extended its platform of CopelandŽ Scroll Digital™ compressors with the introduction of eight- and 10-horsepower Digital Scroll™ compressors. The Digital Scroll™ technology provides infinitely variable capacity modulation and is ideal for commercial applications with widely varying loads and a need to maintain precise temperature and humidity control.

CopelandŽ Scroll Digital offers air conditioning and refrigeration equipment manufacturers an innovative way to modulate the capacity of the compressor from 10 to 100 percent, so that the output precisely matches the changing cooling demand of the room. This approach to capacity modulation is as much as 30 percent more efficient than traditional hot-gas bypass and is capable of holding a precise temperature to within half a degree Fahrenheit.

Copeland’s modulation controller also reduces system development time and time to market for OEMs, relative to other capacity-modulation alternatives.

Because of its ability to match capacity to varying load conditions and maintain precise temperature and humidity levels, the compressor is ideal for a wide variety of commercial applications.
