EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES 2005–2006 SPECIALIZED TRAINING SEMINAR SCHEDULE

ST. LOUIS, September 30, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced the addition of Specialized Technology Training courses to its available curriculum. A schedule for the classes, which are offered by Emerson’s Educational Services, was also released.

The Specialized Technology Training courses target a specific technology, very thoroughly, in one day. Six courses are currently offered, including: Compressor Teardown; Reciprocating Compressor; Screw Compressor; Scroll Compressor; Refrigeration Troubleshooting; and the Training Simulator.

Regarding the addition of the courses, Larry Banas, director of Emerson Climate Technologies’ Educational Services, said, “Feedback from contractors indicated that they didn’t want to be out of the field for multiple days just to keep up on their technical training. The Specialized Technology Training course is perfect, because it provides the depth of information that contractors want on a specific topic, without keeping them from their work for days at a time.”

According to Banas, contractors will benefit greatly from the one-day Specialized Technology Training courses. “These courses present a number of benefits for contractors who want to remain up-to-speed on the trades in which they specialize,” Banas continued. “The curriculum is highly focused on a singular technology, while the materials and the props that are made available enhance this targeted approach in helping contractors to understand the concepts we teach. The classes really maximize a contractor’s time spent out of the field by providing a high level of detail.”

The Specialized Technology Training courses will run October 2005 through May 2006. All courses will be held at Educational Services’ headquarters in Sidney, Ohio, with the exception of the November 30 scroll-compressor training, which will be held in Meriden, Connecticut.
