EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES™ ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF ONLINE PRODUCT INFORMATION IN SPANISH

ST. LOUIS, August 24, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) today announced the availability of its online product information (OPI) in Spanish. The Spanish module of OPI includes information and literature on all Copeland products, including compressors and condensing units. OPI is the most complete online product catalog available to the industry and can be accessed through each of Emerson Climate Technologies web portals, including the Contractor Connection (www.EmersonClimateContractor.com).

According to Mike Saunders, manager of global CRM information for Emerson Climate Technologies, the availability of OPI in Spanish is in response to a strong need for Spanish information. “The number of Spanish-speaking contractors in the HVACR industry is growing at a rapid pace,” he said. “Emerson Climate Technologies is committed to giving contractors the tools they need to meet customer demands and grow their businesses. Having information in their native language makes it easier for Spanish-speaking contractors to serve their customers. There is a lack of resources available in Spanish, so OPI is vital to meeting the needs of contractors who primarily speak Spanish.”

Emerson Climate Technologies determined that there was a need for its online product information in Spanish after discovering that its website designed for the Latin American market receives a significant amount of traffic originating from the United States. On average, the website (copeland-corp.com/americas/sp_index.htm) receives 690,000 hits from within the U.S. each month. “The rate at which contractors are accessing information in Spanish indicates that the HVACR industry must become responsive to the needs of these contractors by making the necessary resources available in their language,” Saunders continued.

Currently, all information for Copeland products and services has been translated, including application engineering bulletins, product information, spec sheets, FAQs and general website FAQs. Plans are underway to have OPI translated into additional languages, including Portuguese and French, over the next several months. To view the catalog in Spanish, users should select the language from the “Preferences” menu.
