EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES™ ANNOUNCES 2005–2006 TRAINING SEMINAR SCHEDULES
Both courses now include information vital for the upcoming 13 SEER transition
ST. LOUIS, July 18, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced the 2005–2006 schedules for its popular Copeland Scroll™ Air Conditioning Training Seminar and Compressor Operation and Service Seminar (COSS). Both seminars are offered by Emerson’s Educational Services division.
These courses have recently been enhanced to include material and information vital in helping contractors and service technicians understand and prepare for the industry’s transition to 13 SEER in 2006. The revised curriculum is part of Emerson’s Get SEERious™ campaign, designed to educate contractors, distributors and homeowners on 13 SEER and help lead the HVAC industry through a smooth transition.
“The enhanced seminars demonstrate the value that Emerson Climate Technologies places on specialized training programs to continually meet the needs of HVACR contractors,” said Larry Banas, director of Emerson Climate Technologies’ Educational Services. “It’s important that contractors take full advantage of the opportunities that have been developed for them to help grow their business and meet the ever-changing challenges facing the industry.”
The Copeland Scroll Air Conditioning Training Seminar is a half-day seminar for service technicians that focuses on air conditioning-system fundamentals, Copeland Scroll technology and alternate refrigerants. Seminars will be held at various locations between October 2005 and April 2006; each daily session will last approximately four and a half hours.
This informative, hands-on seminar is designed to give technicians a better understanding of scroll compressors and new refrigerant technologies, as well as related service practices such as proper charging procedures for R-410A systems and new component technology aimed at improved system reliability, serviceability and comfort.
COSS provides detailed hands-on training related specifically to compressor operation and service. Students learn troubleshooting techniques; explore system components, compressor technologies and motors; and perform a hands-on teardown. The curriculum reflects Emerson Climate Technologies’ continued focus on integrated systems and networks. The three-day seminars will be held at various locations between September 2005 and May 2006.
COSS offers service technicians a solid platform for developing and enhancing the skills they need, as well as staying up to speed on new service topics. The face-to-face classroom environment offers the opportunity to receive expert instruction on proper techniques, address field concerns and learn about the industry’s latest technology and trends.
Both seminars are approved by North American Technician Excellence (NATE) for use towards contractor NATE recertification. Contractors can apply 24 hours of COSS classes, or 40 percent of the hours required for recertification. The Copeland Scroll Air Conditioning Training Seminar is worth four hours towards a contractor’s recertification.
