EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES INTEGRATES MOTOR PRODUCTS INTO DISTRIBUTION CENTER
Represents another major step by Emerson Climate Technologies to streamline and strengthen service to aftermarket
ST. LOUIS, June 2, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR), today announced that it has moved the aftermarket distribution of its heating and air conditioning motors for HVACR wholesalers to its Mt. Comfort Distribution Center, located 5 miles east of Indianapolis. With the addition of motors to the center, customers now have the opportunity to place single orders for their Copeland, Emerson Climate Technologies Flow Controls and HVACR Motors products.
Managed by Emerson’s Distribution Services, the integration took effect on May 2. The transition included customer service support and invoicing in an effort to coordinate customer-facing activities. These efforts are expected to give customers the immediate benefits of improved motor delivery, combined product shipments and the availability of enhanced e-commerce capabilities.
Mark Gibson, vice president and general manager of Distribution Services, commented on how the addition of motors to the distribution center will further position Emerson Climate Technologies for improved performance and customer response. “We are continually finding ways to simplify our processes, with the goal of saving our customers time and reducing their distribution costs with combined deliveries,” explained Gibson. “In addition, the opportunity for freight consolidation will enable more frequent full truck-load shipments to distributors, thereby decreasing their logistical costs while increasing their inventory velocity of Emerson Climate Technologies products.”
Opened in 2002 and located five miles outside of Indianapolis, the Mt. Comfort Distribution Center features one of the most sophisticated warehouse management systems in the HVACR industry. This state-of-the-art distribution center expands the logistical capabilities and capacity of Emerson Climate Technologies’ Distribution Services, which provides aftermarket support for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration customers.
“Our facility currently manages distribution to more than 2,000 customers worldwide. We currently stock more than 10,000 Emerson Climate Technologies products, kits and parts,” said Glenn Russell, manager of the distribution center. “Adding motors to our center will allow us to more effectively and efficiently meet the market demands.”
HVACR Motors customers should continue to place their orders with the St. Louis Customer Service Group.
