EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES™ INTRODUCES NEW SYSTEM TRAINING SIMULATOR FOR CONTRACTORS

ST. LOUIS, February 24, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies™, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) today introduced its new System Training Simulator. Provided by Emerson’s Educational Services, the training simulator offers HVACR contractors, wholesalers and vocational schools an opportunity to receive and/or offer, a unique hands-on training experience that provides the insight and education needed to properly utilize and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Emerson’s System Training Simulator is the first educational tool of its kind and is applicable for both refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. The simulator is a complete working system including critical components such as compressor, motor, valves, sensors and controls. The simulator is for beginner and intermediate skill levels and can be programmed to trigger specific installation, operation and maintenance issues.

“Emerson Climate Technologies is committed to meeting the ever-changing needs of the industry and offering the training to best prepare contractors and wholesalers to fully understand advanced technologies and systems,” said Larry Banas, director of Emerson Climate Technologies Educational Services. “The training simulator is a direct response to the need expressed by contractors for better training tools. It allows for a true hands-on learning experience that better prepares contractors to be able to properly diagnose and troubleshoot system problems, decrease service call time, reduce the number of call backs and increase customer satisfaction.”

The innovative training simulator is portable, weighing about 150 pounds, operates on a 120V, 15 amp power supply, and runs 134a refrigerant for medium temperature applications. It is designed to offer a variety of hands-on training scenarios, including system testing, adjusting and repairing high/low pressure controls, TXV superheat, compressor amp draw and refrigerant leak testing to name a few.

The training simulator is the latest addition to Emerson’s educational programs and curriculum designed to offer contractors, technicians and wholesalers an easily accessible and flexible training experience to meet their needs. Many of the training programs and curriculum offered by Emerson Climate Technologies are NATE (North American Technician Excellence) approved, helping give contractors the education they need to remain NATE Certified.
