Dedicated Heat Pump Compressor Series

Increasing energy costs of gas or oil heating systems, coupled with the need to meet CO2 emission targets, resulted in the growing interest for dedicated heat pumps. Rather than burning fossil fuels to produce heat and consequently CO2 emissions, dedicated heat pumps use renewable energy from the environment like air, ground and water. They consume up to 70% less primary energy and therefore drastically reduce the pollution resulting from the use of fossil fuels.

The EU Renewable Directive is a unique creation which addresses two of the biggest challenges of our time – energy security and climate change. The 20% renewable energy usage target for 2020 is now firmly embedded into Europe’s decision makers.

Heat pumps have been recognized by the RES directive as the technology of choice to make the best use of the renewable energy available through air, water and ground.

Emerson Climate Technologies has therefore developed the ZH range of Copeland Scroll™ compressors for dedicated heat pump applications, delivering outstanding performances and reliability, both in new buildings or boiler retrofit. In addition to the existing R-407C version, Emerson Climate Technologies has now developed a complete line-up for R-410A, thus obtaining significant benefits with systems using this refrigerant, which enables the design of more efficient, more compact and cost effective equipment.

The ZH range of compressors includes models with and without Enhanced Vapor Injection technology . Enhanced Vapor Injection further increases the efficiency, heating capacity and operating envelope and is therefore particularly indicated for cold climates and high water temperature heat pumps.
