Process Chillers
Process Chillers

Pasteurization is a process of heating food to a specific temperature for a definite period of time and cooling it down immediately afterwards. The purpose is to slow the microbial growth in food. The process is used for the production of various products, for example:

  • Canned food
  • Dairy products
  • Ice cream
  • Beverages
  • Syrups

In many cases the process of cooling the food is realized by indirect cooling with the help of process chillers. In this case a secondary water or glycol loop is used to transfer the heat from the food.

Emerson’s introduction of Copeland Scroll™ compressors for medium-high temperature refrigeration and process chilling applications has been well received by the industry. Process Chiller OEMs appreciate their benefits:

  • Complete range between 2–15 hp
  • Proven reliability
  • Digital capacity modulation
  • Superior efficiency
  • Low sound levels
  • All voltage offering

Coupled with the robust Copeland Scroll compressors, Emerson Climate Technologies also offers electronic control solutions for improved energy efficiency, tighter temperature control, remote monitoring and diagnostics.

As a complete solution offering, Emerson also provides flow control components like filter driers, expansion devices, accumulators, solenoid valves and more.
