Bill Blei - Technical Specialist |

Bill
Blei joined Computer Process Controls in 1999 after 45
years as an electrician—30 of which he spent in the
refrigeration industry.
Bill started his
electrical career in the 1950’s with the U.S. Marine
Corps. He joined the private sector in the early 1960’s
and spent over a decade gaining experience as an
industrial electrician.
In 1974, Bill
started his refrigeration career in St. Louis, MO as
a Service Manager with a local contractor. At this time,
he also began teaching a state certified Electricity III
Air Conditioning class at a local technical school. He
then spent several years honing his skills in
Refrigeration Service and Service Management capacities
ultimately becoming Branch Manager for a large
refrigeration service provider.
After utilizing
Computer Process Controls’ products for over a decade,
Bill joined the training department in 1999. He has been
instrumental in designing and implementing numerous
training programs for controllers ranging from RMCC’s and
Einstein’s to the latest E2’s. His combination of
lecturing and hands-on experience with the controllers
makes the classes an invaluable learning experience. Bill
has traveled across the United States and Canada, to train
major supermarket chains, retailers, engineering and
design firms, and contractors. He and his wife reside in
Monroe City, MO.

Steve Brown - Senior Technical Specialist |

Compressor Operation and Service, Specialized Technology,
Copeland Specialist Training
Steve
joined Copeland in January 2000 after extensive teaching
experience in the private sector.
Steve served in
the U.S. Army as a tank commander, platoon sergeant, and
instructor from 1967 to 1970. He trained United States,
South Korean, and South Vietnamese military units in
records keeping, map reading, gunnery, and battle tactics.
After military
service, he attended and graduated from HVAC/R technical
school in 1971. Steve honed his skills as a commercial
heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanic and
worked his way up to service manager. Steve furthered his
career experience when he was selected as Chief Engineer
for a large hotel chain based in Columbus, Ohio.
In 1987, Steve
transitioned into teaching HVAC/R courses at trade and
technical schools in the Dayton, Ohio area. In addition to
his trade school classroom experience, he has also
provided employee training and consulting to a
manufacturer of HVAC/R systems.
He has his
Universal Environmental Protection Agency Certification
and has passed the Industry Competency Exams (ICE) in
Residential Air Conditioning and Heating, Commercial Air
Conditioning and Heating, and Commercial Refrigeration. He
is a registered Federal Proctor for EPA Certification
Exams for stationary equipment through Ferris State
University and transport equipment through Automotive
Service Excellence (ASE). He is also certified by North
American Technician Excellence (NATE) in Air Conditioning
Service and Installation. Steve additionally serves as a
NATE exam facilitator.
Steve is a
graduate of RETS Tech Center in Dayton, Ohio. He is a
member of the Council of Air Conditioning Refrigeration
Educators (CARE), Refrigeration Service Engineering
Society (RSES) and Air Conditioning Contractors of America
(ACCA) and serves on two academic advisory boards. Steve
and his wife reside near Xenia, Ohio.

Bob Feathers - Technical Specialist |

Bob
Feathers joined Emerson Climate Technologies in 2007. A
1982 graduate of ITT Tech’s HVAC/R program in Dayton,
Ohio, Bob earned Journeyman Sheet-metal status in 1987.
He brings to Emerson 25 years of HVAC/R experience in
the field as a Commercial & Residential; Service
Technician, Installer, and Project Foreman. He operates
his own contracting business and holds State of Ohio,
HVAC and Hydronics licenses.
Bob
has worked as a HVAC instructor for Delaware Career
Center. Department Chair and Instructor at RETS
Technical Center. Sheet-metal Local 24 JATC HVAC
program Instructor. He was named the ARI / HVAC/R News
National Instructor of the Year in 2003.
Bob
serves on various national industry related boards and
committees:

The ACCA National Quality Installation Specification
and Restoring Cleanliness of HVAC Systems standards.
·
ARI Curriculum development and Technical Committee.
·
BPI Technical and Test writing Committee.
·
PAHRA Site team leader for HVAC Accreditation and
the NATE Technical Committee.
Bob
was the education chairperson for Ohio ACCA and served
on the board of directors. He currently serves as
Immediate Past President of CARE. (Council of
Air-conditioning, Refrigeration Educators).
Bob
holds NATE Service and Installation Certification in
Air-conditioning, Heat-pumps, Air-distribution, Gas and
Oil heating, and participated in the test writing
workshops for Hydronics and Commercial Refrigeration for
NATE.
Bob
and his wife Robin reside in Centerville, Ohio.

John Roberts - Technical Specialist |

Expertise:
Air Conditioning Scroll Training, Specialized Technology
John
joined Copeland in November of 1993 as a Technician in the
Calorimeter area of the Product Evaluation Laboratory,
where he conducted efficiency and motor testing on
Copeland and competitive compressors.
In 1996 he
transitioned to the Corporate Sound and Vibration
Laboratory. There, he was responsible for specialized
sound and vibration testing on various types of
compressors, condensing units, and related equipment.
Designated
as the Sound Laboratory Corporate Trainer in 1998, John
developed a series of training programs focused on
standardizing the laboratory equipment calibration
procedures and measurement techniques worldwide. He
traveled globally to implement these programs and assist
in the laboratory set up and Technician training in all of
the Copeland Sound and Vibration Laboratories. In 2003,
John was promoted to the position of Sound and Vibration
Lab Project Technician, in which he was responsible for
scheduling project test time and assigning work to Lab
Technicians.
John
joined the Educational Services as a Technical Specialist
in January of 2006.
He served
in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1988. In addition to his
military training, John has an Associates Degree in
Specialized Technology from Triangle Tech in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. He has also completed courses in Acoustic
Theory and Noise Control, and Signal Analysis from AVNC in
Champion, Pennsylvania.
John and
his family reside in Tipp City, Ohio.
