Ms. Majumdar is an established Architect and Building Technology Professional with close to 20 years of experience in the fields of energy and environment, specializing in sustainable habitats and urban development. Her expertise involves her in several aspects of sustainable habitats, ranging from policy analysis and development, providing technical assistance to green building design and implementation, facilitation of energy efficiency retrofit projects, evaluation of financial viability of green building projects, and addressing macro issues related to climate change and urban development.
Industry expertise and proficiency in these fields have also allowed Ms. Majumdar to lead a team to conceptualize and develop GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment), which has been adopted as a National Green Building Rating System. GRIHA was also endorsed by the Ministry of Environment and Forest of the government of India as a tool for granting environmental clearance to large construction projects.
With her vision to help build a sustainable India, Ms. Majumdar has been named Construction World (Indian) Magazine’s first Woman of the Year by ASAPP media in 2011.
