Hiru Jhangiani's background in the HVAC&R field started with his study of the subject at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, USA, in 1947. He returned to India in 1950 and joined Blue Star in Bombay as an engineer handling sales, planning and installation of A/C&R projects. He spent a total of 40 years with the company, the last 12 as a Board Director.
Mr. Jhangiani has work experience in the USA, where he worked for 5 years with a large HVAC contractor as a project manager in New York City. He also worked in the Middle East on several large projects for Blue Star.
He retired in 1993 from Blue Star and has worked as an independent advisor helping several new and small companies to get started or improve their operations in India. He is also a consulting editor of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Journal for ISHRAE and contributes "News from India" for the Japan Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News (JARN).
